So what did the tutors think?

Before:

I thought it was really interesting, because it was my first time and it had only been a theoretical possibility for me before. I was keen to work with my old school and felt really nervous in case it was a disaster!! Also, I had had the idea in the first place and approached Ken about it, so I felt responsible if something went wrong. But I had a lot of faith in Margot's expertise and it was not misplaced.

The kids were great. From the beginning they really listened to us. They were really polite and took the whole thing seriously. I thought the range of topics was interesting and I think it helped that they chose the topics themselves.
After:

My hope is that in the future the students will take the skills they have either learned or developed with us and apply them to other subjects and areas.

Before:
I was looking forward to working with Secondary students utilising Inquiry learning and linking it to Web2.0 tools. It was great collaborating with 9Mc, Julianne and Ken (Mr Bye).
During:
Using the wiki to create and plan the lesson flow, content and delivery was really great. We didn't have to all be in the same place at the same time - a challenge for busy teachers. We could do immediate adjustments as we went along. Recreate and communicate with all contributers when we needed to.
The students were true digital natives - give many tools ago. They were happy to experiment as well as keep focussed on the research requirements. Finding information on the internet requires Information literacy skills which the students developed well during this time -even when it can be frustrating.
Some students utilised the collaborative nature of developing and sharing their work on a wiki. Seeking comments and discussion ideas between groups was good to see.
To see 375 page edits (and counting) of which 360 are from students is wonderful -9Mc are totally contributing and owning this wiki.
